About the Artist

Eric Sherarts

I get ideas for art from my imagination and the life around me. Making art is part of my being and daily life. I draw every day. It’s how I make deep feelings, experiences, and ideas come to life. I always use strong, expressive colors in my work. I make hand-drawn images and then use my iMac and digital studio to arrange drawings into scenes and add colors. I made Under the Stars and Actors on Stage for people to see what my imagination is. At night I love to look up at the stars and watch the wild rabbits in my yard – the rabbits are under the stars. Sometimes I like to draw monsters. I decided to make them silly actors performing on stage. Now, I am happy for you to see my artwork in this show. My work has been exhibited in local galleries and nationally. I have Down syndrome. I am a banquet waiter, Special Olympics athlete, and an artist.
