When the Curtain Rises
About the Artist
I want my work to engage the imagination of the viewer, to be elegant and to be fun. I experiment with color, lines and shapes. My work is contemporary and colorful. I am largely a self taught artist and owe my love of art to my father, Edward Levitt, a Disney Artist, who encouraged and inspired me to be an artist. In my early adulthood, illness had severely limited my functioning. In my middle years, I was able to show my work with quite a bit of success. I have now shown extensively in galleries; on line shows; in movies, TV and commercials; and such venues as museums, libraries, businesses. I have shown mainly in Southern California but also in New York, Florida and Northern California. I did a large project of doing one hundred studies of Southern California artists which has resulted in a facebook page One Hundred Vibrant Artists of LA.
