Birch trees in the Winter. Sgraffito surface decoration on the pot.
About the Artist
Working with clay transports me into a state of mindfulness that creates oneness between the clay and me. As I passionately work with the clay, continuing the continuum with creating the pot, applying colored slips and carving Sgraffito designs in enhancing visual beauty gives me much contentment. The intimacy with the clay enables my emotions and spirituality to emerge spontaneously what words cannot express as I deal with the challenges from being in the silent world and loneliness created by my deafness and bipolar disorder. My style incorporates several carving and glazing techniques into thrown and hand built forms which I like to embellish into my work.
