About the Artist
I caught polio as an infant and being hospitalized, I spent a great deal of time studying and seeing my surroundings. Because I couldn't do things the way others could, I found different solutions- thinking outside the box. I learned in art school that seeing was more important than looking. These experiences gave me the tools to become an artist. I received a BFA from the University of Montana and have been creating for over 40 years. I also sculpt in copper and other non ferrous metals hammering flat sheets into forms and vessels. Under Snow Maple and Winter Light are original limited edition reduction relief prints. The prints are 10" x 8" unframed, or 14" x 11" framed. The reduction relief process involves carving a single block of linoleum a layer at a time as each successive color ink is applied until finally at the last color, most of the block's surface has disappeared.
