Andy DeWeerdt
I am a narrative, figure painter. My work explores the human condition. In 2011 I was diagnosed with the terminal, hereditary brain illness; Huntington's Chorea. It is like having Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and bipolar disorder at the same time. I continue to create art, fighting apathy, depression, mood swings, and memory loss. My work has changed a lot as the anti-psychotic medication gets increased. My work is inspired by a mix of things including my daughters, mythology, mystics, and angels.
