About the Artist
Alex Willow
Alex Willow is a painter, sculptor, and mixed media artist who lives and works in Berkeley, California. Willow holds a BFA in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley (2023). Known for their varying portraits of home, working across all mediums, Alex Willow’s artwork reflects a fascination with the human experience and passage of time. Her paintings invoke a complex and often surreal narrative playing with perspective, orientation, and memory. Their sculptures involve reusage and repurposing of found materials combining biological elements or narratives to add intricacy and intimacy to the work. Creating video art and other mixed media work channels the emphasis on materiality and usage of our most valuable resource: time. They have exhibited across California and will have work featured in a gallery in South Korea this summer.
