Soon‑Wai Wong is an intuitive artist who develops personal methods for observing and interpreting perspective. Soon‑Wai’s studio practice began with small illustrations of longtime favorite subjects such as classic cars and cityscapes, where structure and motion naturally intersected. As he turned his focus toward the more personal subject of travel, the work expanded in both complexity and scale. Architecture often takes on a central role, functioning almost as the main character within each composition, while people appear briefly, caught in moments of transience as they move in and out of focus. Through this approach, Soon‑Wai explores how places hold memory and experience, inviting viewers to linger within the built environment and consider the quiet narratives embedded in the spaces we pass through every day.
