About the Artist
Victoria Pendragon
Unsure of myself as a teen in college, to my painting teacher's dismay, I chose to major in fabric design as opposed to painting. I loved pattern; I had sketchbooks full of designs. It seemed a good decision. I hadn't known that the major was more concerned with the commercial means of producing fabric as opposed to designing it. I graduated with a skill set I would never use. In my 40's I was gifted with diffuse progressive systemic sclerosis which so tightened my skin that my fingers went into a forced curl, where they remain to this day, permanently resting just over my palms. Ironically, I am ambidextrous. I have spent the last year combining my love of painting with my love of pattern. I've been painting for decades, why it took me this long to realize that I could combine the two I will never know but I am loving the results.
