David Terrar
David Terrar creates paintings that explore the difficult journey through depression and the search for hope that follows. Living with depression and the anxiety, worry, and fear that often accompany illness, David spent several years seeking a visual language that could express movement out of darkness rather than remain fixed within it. Nature became an essential metaphor in this process, offering symbols of stability, transition, and light. Through layered abstraction and landscape‑based imagery, David’s work reflects an intentional shift toward healing, where contrast and space suggest both struggle and possibility. Painting is not only expressive but restorative, providing a means to process emotional weight while offering something outward and shared. David hopes his art can serve as a pathway for others, reminding viewers that while depression may shape experience, it does not close the road toward hope, recovery, and renewed perspective.
