Devra Goldstein
Devra Goldstein is a painter, weaver, and mixed media artist whose work radiates color, movement, and careful intention. Working across textile and visual media, Devra uses an adapted Saori loom for weaving and is especially known for luminous alcohol ink paintings that invite close looking. Vibrant palettes are central to the practice, with ideas and emotions expressed through layered color and tactile surface. Inspiration often comes from the ocean, with recurring shades of blue, purple, and silver shaping a visual language that feels fluid and reflective. The energy within each piece encourages viewers to slow down and notice the unique choices embedded in composition and texture. While navigating physical challenges, Devra creates with the support of a personal assistant and advocate, maintaining a committed and active studio practice. The work reflects resilience and joy in making, celebrating color as a powerful means of connection and expression.
