Twilah Hiari creates artwork rooted in quiet focus and persistence, shaped by a long and deeply personal recovery journey. After the onset of autoimmune encephalitis, many daily skills had to be relearned slowly and intentionally. Creative work became part of that rebuilding. Making art now happens in a calm, carefully controlled environment that supports concentration and sensory balance. Sewing, oil pastel, and mixed media allow exploration at a thoughtful pace, transforming both memory and lived experience into tangible form. Art offers a sense of agency and reflection, becoming a place where attention and creativity are held gently. Sharing work publicly is meaningful, offering connection with others who value art shaped by lived complexity. Twilah’s work carries both patience and resolve, inviting viewers into spaces of stillness and quiet strength.
