Caroline Avent
Caroline Avent is a mixed media artist whose work emerges from lived experience, resilience, and an unwavering refusal to be erased. Neurodivergent and living with chronic illness, Caroline returned to painting after a fifteen-year absence when survival demanded truth over perfection. Her work is raw, expressive, and fiercely honest, shaped by line, color, and collision rather than control. Painting became the place where she could not lie, a space where trauma, memory, and persistence coexist. Each canvas carries the exhaustion of navigating a world not built for her mind, along with the strength required to remain visible within it. Caroline’s art is an act of resistance and self-advocacy, created for those who have been unheard or misread. Through her work, she reminds us that survival can be creative, courageous, and deeply human.
