Jace Laakso
Jace Laakso is a printmaker and sculptor specializing in reduction relief linoleum printing. A polio survivor with limited mobility, Jace has sustained a long and dedicated creative practice shaped by patience, planning, and close attention to process. Working from a single block over multiple stages requires trust in both material and method, allowing images to develop gradually through light, shadow, and form. Landscapes and architectural elements often emerge through careful layering, encouraging quiet observation. After surviving polio as an infant, art remains a way to connect with others and share a sense of place. Jace’s work reflects commitment to craft and the belief that creativity can remain steady and expansive over time.
