Lorna Ritz is a landscape artist whose drawing practice is guided by deep observation and patience. From an early age, time spent in art museums shaped a lasting commitment to drawing directly from life. Working slowly and deliberately, Lorna sets an easel in place and returns to a scene over time, capturing fleeting light that will never appear the same again. Living with the effects of multiple surgeries and limited mobility, Lorna adapts tools and methods to remain present in the landscape. Drawing remains a search rather than a conclusion, where every element is given equal importance. Lorna’s work reflects attentiveness, humility, and lifelong devotion to the act of seeing.
