Melissa Milton
Melissa Milton is a painter whose creative practice emerged during years of being homebound due to serious health conditions related to Ehlers‑Danlos syndrome and dysautonomia. Unable to stand or sit for long periods, Melissa transformed space around a sofa into an art studio, building a practice that meets the body where it is. Working with alcohol inks, acrylics, and experimental techniques, painting became a way to move through boredom, uncertainty, and change. Over time, art opened doors to community, connection, and renewed purpose. Melissa values Art of Possibilities not only as an exhibition, but as a statement that artists with disabilities are whole people with rich creative lives. Creating continues with intention, flexibility, and belief in art’s power to advocate and heal.
