About the Artist

Susan Fink

"I enjoy painting and drawing because of the opportunities they give me to engage with other people and to appreciate nature. I didn’t explore art until a cross-country ski accident in my fifties left me with a spinal cord injury affecting both my arms and legs. During my recovery, I realized I needed to find new ways to live with my body. I signed up for a community watercolor class and just kept going. Later, I understood how difficult it was to paint without knowing how to draw, so I signed up for a community ed drawing class. I love the feeling of making marks on paper, losing track of time and being totally in the moment. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to express myself through art."
