About the Artist
My artwork links the boundaries between what we see and what we don’t see through the union of Braille and painting. I use geometric shapes and primary colors upon the surface to illustrate a logical arrangement that can guide the viewer’s eyes across the canvas. Sighted and visually impaired individuals experience color differently, and I want to to communicate the language of color to all viewers. The strategic application of dynamic movement in hues, repetition of shapes, and rich textures within the forms offer seeds of conversation. From there, to increase attention, geometric structures are amplified with the brilliance and intensity of saturated color. Color is a language that influences my mindset in front of the canvas. The power of color can immediately improve and refine my soul. To me, blindness is not an obstacle, and it has allowed me to grow and discover ways to overcome the challenges I confront throughout my life.
