About the Artist
Sara Gaver
Sara Gaver, 31, from Jacksonville, Florida, was born with Arthrogryposis, a physical disability that causes stiff joints and weak or absent muscles. As a result, she is unable to walk and uses a wheelchair full-time for mobility. Coming from an artistic family, Sara has had a love for art her entire life. Though she is unable to use her hands, she paints and draws with her mouth. For Sara, art is an escape from her daily struggles and a way to relieve the stress of living with a disability. Sara has had the opportunity to create art for many different people and has also taught art classes, believing that creativity should be accessible to everyone, no matter their ability. She runs her business, WheelLifeConnections, as The Mouthy Artist and currently sells her paintings through Etsy.
