About the Artist

Eric Sherarts

I love drawing from my imagination and what I see and using strong expressive colors. Creating art is part of my being and daily life. It’s how I make deep feelings, experiences, and ideas come to life. I am happy for people to see my artwork. My art has been exhibited in local galleries and nationally. Cactus fascinates me, I have seen many kinds in Arizona. A fantasy cactus and realistic cactus appear in my work this year. I hand drawn images and then use my iMac and digital studio to arrange drawings into scenes and add color. I have Down syndrome. I am a banquet waiter, a Special Olympics Bocce Champion, and an artist. I LOVE being an artist. Being an artist helps me talk about what I feel, what I experience, and what I imagine in a ways that others can see and understand.
