Susan Martin
I am Susan T. Martin, a South Florida Artist who has survived Violent Assault, Emotional and Physical Abuse, Domestic Violence and now lives with PTSD and flashbacks. I have endured decades of intractable pain from injury and degenerative bone disease, as well as coping with Fibromyalgia and severe arthritis. I am a survivor of Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome which also causes extreme vertigo called BPPV . These conditions have brought many challenges and I have had to adapt and accept my new reality. As someone who also copes with Bipolar Disorder, my Art is crucial to my continued recovery and the bright future I see ahead. Art is my daily therapy, my safe haven to express the myriad of emotions I cycle thru each day. I can let loose of manic episodes with vivid patterns and repetitive marks. My use of brilliant hues and impactful color choice brightens my dark moods and allows me to regain balance.
