I am inspired by many subjects, but my favorite subject is the still life floral. The style in which I paint is very loose and may be characterized as "traditional contemporary". My interest lies in capturing the mood of the subject, rather than the fine details contained within it. It's specific color and individuality is what I find interesting. Through the process of painting, I become attached to the color palette, the texture of the paint and the composition, whether it be simple, or complex. I create paintings which take on their individual character and specific visual interest. Paintings which permit the viewer to recognize a familiar subject in a new and different way.
