About the Artist
Melissa Milton
Melissa is a lifelong native of the Southern United States who began painting late in life after inherited medical issues forced an early retirement from her legal career. Due to physical limitations caused by Dysautonomia and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, she paints using a hand held stylus on an ipad surface while lying down, and prints all of her giclée canvases in her home art studio since she can no longer drive. She creates art for the enjoyment of the process, and enjoys listening to other people’s reactions to and interpretations of what she creates. Melissa has been pleasantly surprised to learn that the creation of her art has served as an inspiration for some people, who have told her it makes them feel that they may likewise transform their own life challenges into something positive. Melissa believes – and her artwork evidences - that when one door opens, you search for a new door to go through.
