About the Artist
Katherine Cooper
Kat Cooper is a graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Art program at the University of West Florida with a focus in Studio Art. She likes to explore feminist themes through the trials of being a woman with a disability. Cooper also creates a sense of empathy and understanding between disabled and non-disabled people by creating work that displays themes of overcoming trials within one's self and adding braille to make her works multi textural as well as accessible on multiple levels. Cooper likes to create works with many different kinds of medium including oil paint and watercolor mixed with other mediums in order to create tactile images with depth and interest.
