Elzie McCallister
Elzie McCallister is a mixed media sculptor who creates work rooted in vulnerability, contrast, and emotional endurance. Living with chronic pain, neurodivergence, depression and other invisible conditions, Elzie allows feeling to guide material choice and form. Fabrics, resin, and sculptural elements interact to express tension between softness and strength. Creating begins with emotion rather than plan, allowing the work to evolve organically. Art becomes a way to give form to experiences often held silently. Participating in Art of Possibilities affirms belief in platform and visibility for disabled artists, reinforcing that creativity does not disappear in the presence of hardship. Elzie’s work invites reflection on resilience and the beauty that can emerge alongside struggle.
