About the Artist
Avery Hunter
I am a neurodivergent artist who relocated from England to the U.S. in 2004 at 18, leaving behind Northamptonshire's limited creative resources for Minneapolis, Minnesota's rich array of artistic opportunities. In England, I completed A levels in Drama, English Literature, and General Studies. Since moving, I have embraced painting, drawing, and alternative photography professionally, participating in various art fairs and national exhibitions. I earned an Associate of Fine Arts degree from Minneapolis Community and Technical College in 2010 and a Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts from Metropolitan State University in 2021. Beyond my art, I am a husband and father to two incredible children with disabilities, and I work as a teaching artist with an organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of individuals with disabilities through the creative arts.
