Rya B is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges identity, endurance, and visual storytelling. Rya creates art as both expression and survival. The practice spans jewelry, clothing, portraiture, and large-scale murals, all rooted in a lifelong habit of journaling and a “dual narrative” approach that blends imagination with lived reality. Drawing from Afrocentric celebration alongside punk and goth aesthetics, the work reflects both strength and vulnerability. Creating art remains a challenge when pain limits movement and stamina, yet the studio continues to be a place of reclamation and clarity. Through careful material choices and layered metaphor, Rya’s work offers viewers a mirror of identity and a window into shared human experience.
