About the Artist
Erika Schwarz
Erika received a BS in evolutionary biology, and an mfa in animation. It was only later in life, after much struggle, she was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her works are unified by environmental themes and seek to define our relationship to the natural world and promote environmental protection. Her autism diagnosis created a sense of validation to her difficulties the same way many environmental issues are gaining visibiliity with the public. She often digitally scans natural materials and then work with them also digitally like paint.
